You can draw a panel assembly prior to drawing a single schematic. The Insert from Panel List function allows you to pick from the Schematic Icon Menu and place a schematic symbol that is linked to the panel footprint. However, the Schematic Icon Menu does not offer parametric PLC’s so how is it done?

The following video shows you how you can place PLC footprints down in an assembly, panel layout or general arrangement drawing first and then subsequently draw the PLC symbology from the panel layout information. This method of operation is often required where the client insists on receiving a general arrangement drawing prior to the completion of the schematics.
