BIM 360 has seen a couple of updates over the last month which hint at the work being done behind the scenes at Autodesk to bring all the separate applications closer together.

At the beginning of June, BIM 360 underwent a makeover which gave it the new style interface that we will see more and more of in the coming months. It is now referred to as Document Management once you log in and start using it. With this new interface update the display of file lists, thumbnail views, the issues list and the RFI list have all been standardised. The way that you administer project information and members is a lot simpler too.pic1.jpg

The next module to undergo the interface update is the administration one. Now called Account Admin, it too has a simplified, more intuitive interface. There are separate lists for projects, members and companies.  On the Project Members page, you will able to view which modules each member has access to and their permissions. You will also be able to filter the view by module giving a much clearer view of who has the rights to update the model.

At the Autodesk University London main stage presentation we saw more previews of new and existing modules being delivered using this interface. I am excited that the promised deep integration of all the modules is coming and my tip for the next few months is to keep an eye out for an updated version of BIM 360 Field.
