BIM 360 Field has some great functionality for managing live construction sites but not just for tracking issues, tasks and sub-contract. One of the most time consuming jobs on site is managing hired equipment and plant. It is not uncommon for items of plant to still be on site long after it was planned to be collected or for other items to go missing. This type of equipment can be managed using the standard equipment management functionality in BIM 360 Field. im1.pngWe can simply filter our equipment list using suitable attributes, for example any plant that is currently on site.

im2.pngIf we want to find out any information about a particular piece of plant, we can simply scan the QR code or barcode attached to the equipment at site. BIM 360 Field will find the record for the item, in this case a narrow aisle scissor lift. im3.pngWe can even find the associated operating instructions.im4.pngOnce we are ready to take the plant off-hire we can rescan the barcode on the equipment and set the status to Off hired in BIM 360 Field and enter the date that the hire ends. im5.pngFinally, back in the office we are able to run a predefined report to show us the status of all the plant on site.im6.png
