The November 8, 2017 Docs update delivers highly-requested RFI and Issue management enhancements, viewer navigation improvements and better support for PDF specifications managed in "Project Files" folders.
Issue Management - New UX and Export to CSV
Issue Management has a new look, aligned with the BIM 360 next-gen platform. The Issue list has been redesigned for the most important information that you need "at a glance" and, as requested by many of you, we now support exporting the issue list for offline review and analysis.
Improvements include:
- Column widths optimised for the most important information
- Navigate directly to the drawing or model from the list
- Performance improvements with pagination
- No longer displaying the "due date" for closed issues
Here's the new look for creating or editing an Issue from the list (this should look familiar to Docs Android users):
When you export your issue data to a CSV file, you'll get even more information than what is displayed in the list, including the following:
Issue Number (ID), Title, Description, Location, Status, Official Response, Assigned to, Assignee Type (User, Role, Company), Company, Due date, Document, Creation date, and Created by. The export is also date/time stamped for clarify and accuracy.
RFI Enhancements
The RFI experience has been updated in line with the next-gen BIM 360 user experience. Like Issues, Autodesk has updated the list view (and now displays the company associated with the assigned user) and provides export to CSV for the following details:
RFI Number (ID), Title, Question, Suggested answer, Location, Status, Official Response, Assigned to, Assignee Type, Assignee’s Company, Due date, Document, Date created, and Created by. Like the issue list, the export is date / time stamped.
Here is a view of the updated user experience (similar for Issues), where you can toggle between the key details in one view and the activity in the other:
Viewer Navigation Improvements
Autodesk has updated the viewer navigation experience for files in "Project Files" folders. For model files, you'll see options for viewing 2D sheets and 3D views. For multi-page PDF files, you'll see the navigation listed as "Pages" (vs. "sheets" in the previous experience).
