Introduction

Often when creating an alignment in Civil 3D we either ignore the program when it asks if we would like to Reverse our alignment, or are unsure of the answer until after we have already created it.

More often than not when we realise our alignment is the wrong way around, there is a tendency to delete the alignment and start over, however hidden in the Modify draw on the ribbon there is a better solution.

Solution

Select the alignment to activate the contextual ribbon and select the drop-down arrow on the Modify Panel to expand it (Fig 1).

When expanded select Reverse Direction to reverse the direction of your alignment (Fig 2).

This will flag up a warning message to make you aware of the implications of Reversing the direction of your alignment (Fig 3). Provided you are satisfied with this press ok to Reverse the direction of your alignment.
