This bulletin concerns all mechanical user’s calculating heat losses to use either independently or within the services programs, such as Piping or Ducting.

Problem: Heat Loss Through Ground Floors.

We have been advised by one of our customers that although the Fabric Losses through a ground floor are calculated and listed, they are not included in the Totals, (Fabric & Total Loss), see screenshot below. Ventilation losses have been excluded for clarity and there are no losses through the internal ceiling due to the same temperature above and below.

The above screenshot has been simplified by expressing the U values as whole numbers and excluding the corrections for Convective heating.

Where it Occurs:

In the Energy program>Display>Heat Losses.

How to Resolve:

The temporary workaround until we resolve this issue is to manually input typical values to replace the default zeros when in Building>Face Data e.g. 12oC & 10oC, see below.

How will we know when a fix is available?

We shall advise as soon as a fix is available via our download page or when opening MEPworx.
