Did You Know?
Using DynamicAim you can easily and quickly Markup any CAD Plan, 3D Model or even an Asset Handbook. Those markups can then be shared with the wider Project Team!
How:
Having found the Document or Model that you wish to Markup, open it into the Dynamic View. In this example we will open and Markup a Revit Model.
The Dynamic View will open the Revit Model into the left-hand side of the current AIM window where you will have a smaller Model which you can navigate around.
Zoom and pan around the Model until you reach the location that you wish to enter your Markups for. In this example we will markup that a new parking space needs to be created.
From the Tools toolbar below the Model, choose the Markup tool button.
A suite of Markup tools will appear below the Model.
The Drawing tools are located on the left of the Markup Toolbar and include options to draw Clouds and Polygons.
Here we will use the Polygon tool to draw a new Parking Space.
Using the Line Style tool, you can choose a new colour or change the existing object that is selected. With options to choose the line colour, thickness and opacity.
Here we will change the existing red parking bay polygon to be blue.
Using the Background Style tool, you can choose to apply a colour fill for the object you have drawn. In this case we have chosen a light blue background with a 30% transparency.
Callouts allow you to add text and bubble captions to your Markups.
You can add Circular, text for Cloud, Text for Custom Cloud and Text for Polygon Callouts.
Here we have added a Circular Callout, denoting that no parking bay should be added to the right.
Before adding your final Text annotation, we will use the Text Style button to choose the style of our text, with options for Text Size, Bold, Italic, Underlined and Colour.
Having chosen the Test style, now use the Text Marker tool and you can add a Text Box to further annotate the Model.
If you make any mistakes there is a suite of Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo and Delete tools to help you clear up your markup layer.
Once you have finished your Markups choose the Save Button.
Give the Markup a name and choose Save.
An image file is then auto downloaded to your computer, which you can open, print and email to share with the wider Project Team.
