CadSHARE – Search for AutoCAD Drawings

Using CadSHARE you can easily search for and find any AutoCAD Drawing in your SharePoint repository.

How?

CadSHARE is a plugin tool for AutoCAD and allows you to store, retrieve, update and manage all your organisations AutoCAD Drawing Files in your SharePoint repository.

To search for a Drawing file (.DWG) from your SharePoint instance, choose the Open tool.

The Open window will appear, where you can choose to view and create favourites, search for files and view recent files.

You may have numerous AutoCAD Drawing Files within your SharePoint directory and it can be very difficult to know where they are stored! To help with this, CadSHARE provides a Search option where your users can simply type the name (or partial name) of the Drawing file and run a quick search!

In the CadSHARE Open window, choose the Search magnifying glass…

… and a popup will appear where you can type a Search value - using the full or partial DWG filename. In this example we will search for the keyword ‘rename’.

Having entered the search value press Search All, and the results will be returned in the Results window below.

Having found your Drawing File, simply select it from the Results list > choose Open Selected and that DWG will be opened into AutoCAD.

The CadSHARE plugin therefore provides your users with an intuitive yet powerful search option to find those all-important missing Drawing Files!
