Address & Street Management – Create Multiple Child Records

Question:

Is it possible to create Multiple Child Records in one go using the Cadline Address & Street Management Application?

Answer:

Yes!.... follow the steps below to perform this task.

1 – Create the Parent UPRN record first

For example, this could be a parent record for a Block of Flats, and in this example we will use 98 Colin Road London.

Notice that because the record is a Parent it doesn’t have a Parent UPRN value associated to it.

2 – Create New UPRN – BLPU Section

From the Address page choose the New UPRN Creation button.

In the New UPRN Creation window enter the required details into the BLPU Section – including the Logical Status, BLPU Class (RD06 – Residential Flat), Street (same street as the Parent UPRN).

3 – Create New UPRN – LPI Section

Now in the LPI Section, instead of creating one individual new Parent record, tick the SAO Copies button. It will give you a message to state that the Parent UPRN is required if SAO section is populated.

Enter the UPRN value for the Parent Address record – 98 Colins Road, London.

In the LPI Section now enter the details for the Child records. Here we will insert the SAO text value of FLAT, and the Sao Start of 1 and range to of 9. This means we will create 9 new Child records Flat 1, Flat 2, Flat 3,… Flat 9.

4 – Create New UPRN – Multi LPi Details

Because we are creating the Child records as a Block of Flats at the same location, change the Geometry Y-offset (m) to 0.

.. and now press Generate Preview.

The Multi LPI details section is then updated with each of the Child records. In this case Flat1 to Flat 9. Here you can choose to edit values such as the Logical Status as needed.

Once you are happy with each record, choose the tick box above the records to select them all.

Then press Generate BLPU/LPI.

…to continue and create the new records choose OK to the popup message.

Now back in the Addresses table view we can see the new Child Flat records have been auto created.
