MapThat – OSM Search Updated

MapThat v6.2.2 onwards now has an update to allow you to use the OpenStreetMap (OSM) Search for either UK only or All Data.

If you are looking for place names, streets, postcodes in the UK, then tick the Search UK Only option….. and then type your search criteria e.g. a postcode.

… the results are then shown below….

.. and when you click on a result record a pin is dropped in the map and the map centres over the location.

If you want to search for places outside of the UK, then tick the Search All Data option….

.. in this example we can search for a world placename e.g. Paris!

…. and once you have run the search, click on one of the result records and a pin is dropped in the map and the map centres over the location.

In this final example we have searched for an Irish Postcode….

The OSM Search in MapThat now allows you to search for locations in the UK, or for anywhere in the world!
