Freeze Column Option - AutoCAD

Is there a way to work more effectively in the dialogue/palette without having to go back and forth across the layer properties manager using the slider at the bottom of the dialogue?

When working across the Layer dialogue, consider freezing the Name column, this Freezes (or unfreezes) the whole column (and any columns to the left) so that it stays on the screen...enabling you to easily scan across the layer columns to the right without moving the information on the left that you also wish to see (Simply right-click a column heading and click Freeze Column to activate this feature).
