MapThat – Adding a Theme Description in MapThat

How can I add a description to a Theme in MapThat?

Answer:

MapThat now has the option to configure a description to a Thematic Legend. For example as shown below, the LSOA Count Thematic Legend shows the following description as the user hovers over the layer.

To configure a description for any Thematic Layer, use SQL Server Management Studio to edit the MapThat Database and choose to EDIT the VE_THEMES table:

In the THEME_TOOLTIP field you can simply type a textual value that you wish to display. This could be a value that describes the purpose of the Thematic or the Date period that it applies to.

Save the changes to the VE_THEMES table and in MapThat you will now have the relevant description as you hover over the Thematic Legend.
