MapThat – Create your own MapBox Access Tokens

Question:

How can I create my own Access Tokens for accessing MapBox base mapping? 

Answer:

MapThat webGIS will connect to a number of external basemapping resources as long as there is a valid URL and Access Token.

In order to create an Access Token for using MapBox basemapping you will need to follow the steps below: 

1 – Visit the MapBox website - https://www.mapbox.com/

2 – On the Home page choose the Sign In button

3 – If you don’t have an account…… choose the signup link

4 – Complete the signup details:

5 – Login to your account and an Access Token will automatically be created for you:

6 – To utilise the Access Token within your MapThat, simple edit the VE_BASELAYERS table and update any existing BASE_URLs for your MapBox layers and replace the previous Access Token value with your new Access Token.
