Fixing problematic AutoCAD files

Question:

I have a drawing that is frequently crashing or won’t open in AutoCAD.

Answer:

Access the recover command from the Application > Drawing Utilities menu.

There are two commands:

• Recover, does a health check on the drawing file, fixes any problems and then opens the file.
• Recover with Xrefs, also checks the file, but also checks and fixes linked external reference files as well!
