SQL Server – Database Restore Fails

Question:

I am trying to Restore an existing Database from a .BAK file but it fails stating the issue below, why is this?

Answer:

To resolve this issue, you simply need to tick the Overwrite Existing Database (with REPLACE) option in the Options page -

Now when you run the RESTORE, the .BAK file is used to overwrite the existing Database successfully.
