Question:

In QGIS is it possible to configure the Map Scale options?

Answer:

From the bottom status bar in QGIS, you can choose from a set list of Map Scale options. By default, this list will look like the below.

However, if you wish to change these Map Scale options choose Settings > Options > on the Map Tools Tab > and the Predefined Scales section you can view the current list of defined Map Scales:

To edit this list use the PLUS and MINUS icons to remove and add Map Scales as required.

For example adding a new Scale of 1:5000000.

To apply these changes you will need to Save the Map Scales as an XML file.

Once Applied, the Map Scales list has now been updated with Scales removed and added as defined.
