AutoCAD 2014 - Problem Solving Ribbon Issues

Whilst performing some system maintenance recently I came upon this message whilst editing some drawings in AutoCAD. The error message appears on the ribbon with the following message 'The Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded' (image shown below):

This is a problem that sometimes comes up, especially if you are an AutoCAD Apps enthusiast and you have recently installed some third party applications from areas like the AutoCAD Exchange. The loss of ribbons tend to result from an AutoCAD crash or locking up. This then forces a shutdown of the AutoCAD application with the typical error dialogue.

Upon restarting AutoCAD and you get the typical drawing recovery prompts and the missing panels showing the message -  'The Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded'

This is actually easily solved!

At the AutoCAD command prompt, type:

Menu <press enter>

The following dialogue will appear.

Choose Acad.cuix (be aware the extension may not be visible on some systems) and click open

AutoCAD's screen will flicker and hopefully the missing ribbon buttons should reappear.

Hurray! Back to our day job! :)

All that is needed now is to get the Christmas shopping done and not to drink too much in the current season of good cheer!
