AutoCAD - Selecting and Cycling using Lasso

Holding down the left button of the mouse initiates the “Lasso” method of selecting an object. This is a function that users either love or hate and many users simply disable it, however it is a quick way of selecting objects.

Holding down the left mouse button and dragging the cursor to the right, or in an anti-clockwise direction, creates a “Lasso Window”, as shown in Figure 1.

Holding down the left mouse button and dragging the cursor to the left or in a clockwise direction, creates a “Lasso Crossing Window”, as shown in Figure 2.

NOTE: - When the “Lasso” command is in progress by pressing the “Space Bar” the user can cycle between “Window” (Figure 3), “Fence” (Figure 4), and “Crossing” (Figure 5), lasso selection options.
