QGIS version 3.14 (Pi) has just been released and as usual it has some great new enhancements.
Here are some of my favourites which I am looking forward to trying:
- Identify Tool Support for QGIS Vector Tile Layers
- New Tool to Deselect Features from an Active Layer
- Drag and Drop Layers between multiple QGIS Instances
- Open and View Attribute Tables as TABS
- Place Labels outside of Polygon Features
I know that I am looking forward to docking the Attribute Tables as TABS… I have been wanting to do this for a long time!
If you wish to use this new feature, you will need to edit the Settings for QGIS.. Settings > Options and on the Data Sources Tab, tick the box to Open new attribute tables as docked windows.
Now when you open a new Attribute Table it will be docked at the bottom below the map:
You can resize the Attribute window by pulling the panel up and down:
You can also move the Attribute window to another docked location e.g. to the right of the map:
… you can even dock it on top of the Layers/Browser Panel:
And you can add multiple Attribute Windows as TABS on top of each other so you can easily switch between the tables:
Why not download QGIS 3.14 (Pi) and try it for yourself - https://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html
