The Catalog Browser enables you to Insert a component from the catalogue database, assign a catalogue value to a component, or edit the catalogue database. Part, manufacturer, description and technical data can be assigned for each part along with pin, terminal or core information. A weblink can be defined within the part entry allowing the user to Surf to the manufacturers web page for the specific range or indeed components datasheet. The weblink field can be used however for a data sheet stored locally on the company’s server as long as a full UNC or mapped drive path is defined and the file has the file extension specified.

If you have turned off your Catalog Browser, you can turn it back on by typing AECATALOGOPEN at the Command line.

  • If you are using cloud sharing platforms such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Autodesk Drive, Box etc you can’t have a specific users credentials in the file path if other users are also sharing the data
    • Likewise on a specific users local C: drive
  • The file extension must be defined e.g. *.pdf
