Inventor - Sketch driven component pattern

To create an assembly component sketch driven pattern, a sketch driven pattern must exist as a feature in a part:

1. With the part open/ active to edit in place, create a work point:

2. Create a sketch driven pattern with the work point as the feature and the sketch that is to be used for the pattern as the placement selection: 

3. Within the top-level assembly, pattern the component. For the feature pattern, select the sketch driven pattern created at step 2 from the modelling browser:
