AutoCAD Tip: Dialogue Box missing when opening or saving drawings?

Sometimes, usually after a system crash or update, a problem can occur in AutoCAD where the expected dialogue box does not display when opening or saving drawing files.

Instead, the file name and path information shows as text in the command line area. To fix this the FILEDIA system variable needs to be switched on.

Simply type in;

FILEDIA (press enter)

1 (press enter)

The open and save dialogue box should now display and work as expected!
