AutoCAD Tip – Useful line length scheduling Add-in

When doing electrical or other service-related drawings such as pipework, it is useful to be able to measure the total length of objects. Whilst tools such a Quick Select, properties and list work, it is sometimes useful to be able to export the lengths and locations of these objects out to a spreadsheet or database program like MS Excel.

This functionality is enhanced with the Line Totals add-in which not only reports the total number of lines and length, but is also able to export the data out to Excel for further analysis. In addition the app also generates a unique reference number for each line and reports its starting coordinate location.
