AutoCAD Tip: Useful Add-in to share AutoCAD Layer Filter Settings between drawings

Layer filters are a useful tool when working with drawings with many layers. In the image below a filter has been set to show just layers that have been turned off. Unfortunately, unlike Layer states, Layer filters cannot be exported to other drawings with out of the box tools. However, with the Layer filter add-in, layer filters can be exported out to a shared location and then imported into another drawing making the process of working with many layered drawings much easier.

Exporting a layer filter, prompts for a location with the layer filter definition saved as an IFE format file. Importing a layer filter is effectively the same process.
