AutoCAD Tip– TEXT always appearing in Caps?

I recently had a conversation with a customer who had the problem of all his text objects appearing in uppercase. It was not an obvious issue like leaving the caps lock key on and the problem was apparent on both conventional single line text and multi-line text.

The solution is the setting of an AutoCAD (and LT) system variable.

Type on the AutoCAD command prompt, TEXTALLCAPS (press enter).

Type ‘OFF’ (press enter) and the text display behaviour should now behave as expected. Typically, the variable should default to off but in certain instances (perhaps when running Lisp routines) these variables can be reset.
