AutoCAD Tip: Need to create and arrange multiple viewports? Use MVSETUP

Recently I had a question from an AutoCAD customer about the need to create multiple viewports on a sheet. Most users only need 1 or 2, but sometimes several viewports are needed to show different scales, or different portions of the model. Although viewports can be copied via conventional means there is a useful command within AutoCAD that will not only create multiple viewports but also space them out, set scales, arrange the viewports and insert the title sheet as well. In summary a very useful command!

On the layout sheet, choose the Create Viewport option and specify the viewport type, extents of views, number in terms of rows and columns and spacings between the views.

Clicking on screen will then create the selected viewport layouts and named saved views can then be applied to each viewport.

MVSetup can also be run from Model space, which will prompt additional options of switching to Paper Space, setting units and scale etc.
