A common question that is asked during AutoCAD training is how to control the mirroring of text, or specifically stopping text from mirroring when creating a handed version of an element.

This can be controlled by setting the system variable MIRRTEXT to ‘0’ (or Off). Turning it to ‘1’ will restore the mirrored annotation behaviour. This will control both single line and multi-line text entity types.

Unfortunately, this does not include text elements residing within Blocks or External References. However, there are a couple of alternate options to achieve a result which I will cover in a future post.
