Did You Know,… the DynamicMaps Address and Street Management Application allows you to create Multiple Child Records in one go!

In this example we will create multiple SAON (Child) Address records at the same time. Creating multiple child records in one go, is a great way to create all the flats/apartments needed for a block of flats. And in the latest version of the LLPG, as you create the new records the post code details from the associated Parent record will be inherited by the child records.

From the Addresses page choose the New UPRN creation button.

In the BLPU Section choose the Logical Status for the properties e.g. Residential – Dwelling - Flat and the Street on which the properties should be associated to.

If you wish to create multiple child UPRNs, in the LPI section, firstly tick the SAO Copies box and the system will ask for the UPRN of the Parent record.

Having added the Parent UPRN… the address for the Parent UPRN is shown.

In the LPI Section enter the SAO Text e.g. the word ‘Flat’. Then insert the Start and End numbers as needed. In the example below we will create Flat 11 through to Flat 15.

To see a preview of the new UPRN records choose the Generate Preview button.

In the Multi LPI Details pane the new UPRN records will be previewed. With each having their own UPRN value, and each sharing the other LPI details – Street, Town etc… Notice they will inherit the postcode data from the Parent record.

Choose the Generate BLPU/LPI button and press OK to the following message.

Validation Rules will be applied against the Postcode details for the new records. A Red X defines there is an issue, and if you hover over the Red X the message reveals the validation error. In this case the issues state:

  • When Postally Addressable = N, the Post Town must Not be Set.
  • The chosen Postcode of W6 0F does not currently exist.

If we hover over another record in the list, this record has one issue:

  • When Postally Addressable = N, the Post Town must Not be Set.

DMadr12.png

The new address records will not be created until you resolve the validation issues. So firstly, we will update the address records that have a Post Town value, to set their Postally Addressable option to be Y – Postally Addressable.

DMadr13.png

If we now select those address records from the left tick box and choose Generate BLPU/LPI, those address records will be created and assigned a new UPRN in green.

DMadr14.png

We will now select the remaining address record and try and Generate BLU/LPI.

 DMadr15.png

This time we have one Red X, denoting that the PostCode value chosen does not match an existing postcode.

DMadr16.png

Either correct the postcode, or you can tick the box to the right to define that the chosen postcode is a new postcode.

DMadr17.png

Now select the address record again and choose Generate BLPU/LPI… and the final address record will be created and assigned a new UPRN in green.

If we check the Address Show Table, we can see that the 5 new child Flat address records have been created.
