Revit 2019 – 3D Views: Hidden Line Style with Materials Accent

Instead of using the Consistent Colours visual style in Revit, try using the Hidden Line style with a tint of accent colour.

Open the default 3D view of any project (one of the Revit sample models would be ideal). In the image below, we go to the Materials menu in the manage tab on the ribbon and set a solid fill pattern for the glass material. As you can see in the 3D view, everything is white except for the windows. If you want to create an effect for a single view only, use the Override By Category tool on the glass. 

Experiment with visual effects on a sample model. Use different colours and vary the transparency. In the image above the transparency was set to 50%.

This is an excellent way to highlight an architectural feature of the building model, in this case the windows and curtain walls.
