Introduction

A tag is an annotation for identifying elements in a drawing. In the Door Tag example shown below two separate labels have been created (one for the Type Mark D1, and one for the Fire Rating 1.5 HR).

By assigning visibility parameters to both labels we will be able to hide part of the Door Tag. In the Family Editor, click the Family Types button and create a Yes/No Parameter to control visibility.

Associate Family Parameter

In Properties Associate the Type Mark parameter to the Type Mark label (1t). Click the little radio button to the right of the word visible. Select the Type Mark Parameter and click OK. A little equal sign will appear as shown below.

Repeat the same steps for the Fire Rating label.

You can now show one or both labels in the Door Tag as shown below.

The Type Marks and Fire Ratings are recorded in a Door Schedule.

The door types can also be illustrated in a Door Legend.

Once loaded in the main project duplicate the Door Tag to achieve two separate types. For one of the types deactivate the visibility of the Fire Rating label.

Use two separate annotation types depending on the desired display.
