Introduction

Create roofs on any non-vertical faces of a mass using the Roof by Face tool. You can create roofs in a similar way that we created floors (refer to my previous blog on the Cadline Community: Floor by Face 16/09/2019).

1. Click Massing & Site tab > Model by Face panel > (Roof by Face).

2. In the Type Selector, select a roof type.
3. Move the cursor to highlight a face.
4. Click to select a face.
5. In the contextual part of the ribbon select create roof.

Note: If the Select Multiple option is cleared, a roof is placed on the face immediately.

Tip: You can change the pick face location of the roof (either top or bottom) by modifying the roof’s Picked Faces Location property in the Properties palette.

Note: You cannot select faces from different masses for the same roof.

Note: Roofs created using the Roof by Face tool do not automatically update if you change the mass face.
