Whilst on-site recently a customer asked me how they can access the STL exporter for Revit 2019.

I replied that it was easy, all they had to do was utilise the Autodesk Desktop App in their tray, look for updates, find the add in and click the install option! I then proceeded to show the process and was rather embarrassed to not see the exporter in my list of entitlements, yet it was available for my Revit 2018 and 2020 installs!

I also checked my Autodesk account page and couldn’t see the required function there either which was very strange. After logging out of my online account, clearing the cache and settings of my browser and re-logging in on a clean session, the exporter add-in was finally there on my list of installs.

It does seem at times the Desktop App is a little bit unreliable in the display of all a user’s entitlements and therefore the best way to get updates is via the online Autodesk Account page ideally via a fresh, cleared cache browser session.
