Revit 2021 - Find and place families quickly with Revit’s Search function

When Revit projects get to a more advanced stage, they tend to get quite complex in structure and desired content can be difficult to locate and place quickly. However, for some years now Revit has had a search facility to make it easier to find the correct family from a long list.

When placing any component or system family, simply type in the search field, within the type selector on the properties palette. Alternatively, families can be searched for in the Project Browser, by right clicking and typing the search criteria for the desired family. If there are multiple options users can cycle through to the next option or back as desired.
