Revit Tip – Adding a sheet revision note, without adding a revision cloud

Revit has had a revisions tool to keep track of models and sheets for many years.

This is a manual process, where a revision stage is noted in the revision’s manager interface and then the revision cloud tool is drawn on a view where the revision is relevant. If the view is on a sheet, then the sheet revision label will increment to the next available field. However, at times the revision is such that a cloud is not needed. This may be in the case of a major revision where the whole drawing has changed. In this situation we can set a revision on the sheet itself without having to add a cloud. This is simple to do, just add the revision note as normal in the revision’s manager, go to the relevant sheet and edit sheet revisions as shown in the image below.

Amend other sheet revisions as appropriate, hiding any redundant clouds from previous revision issues within the revision’s interface.
