When working in Elevation, Section or Plan views there is sometimes a need to show elements that are concealed behind other objects as a hidden linestyle. With the view set to Structural discipline, this is done automatically for all structural objects, but what about when working in Architectural or Coordination disciplines, either to show timber framing within walls or floor joist layouts?

This is easily achieved by setting the hidden line setting to ‘All’ within the property’s palette. All elements within the view range/depth will show as hidden.

For greater control of the view, use filters/view templates to display elements as required. If only a few elements need to be shown, then the show hidden lines tool can be used. Simply select the obscuring object and then the element to be shown through as hidden.
