Override Graphics in View

The image below shows four curtain walls placed between five concrete columns. The surface pattern on the curtain panels displays in all visual styles except realistic.

In a recent training course, some delegates found this surface pattern rather annoying and wanted to know how to turn it off. The quickest way to turn off the surface pattern visibility on the curtain wall panels is to use a graphic override.

Select one of the curtain walls, then right click and select Override Graphics in View. You will now have two options: By Element or By Category.

Select By Element and in the View Specific Graphics dialogue box uncheck the little Foreground Visibility box.

The selected curtain wall will not have a surface hatch pattern as illustrated below.

Select one of the other curtain walls and repeat the Override Graphics process, but this time select the By Category option. None of the curtain walls will now show a surface pattern.

Remember that the functionality to Override Graphics in View is specific to the view that you are working in.
