Recently there was a point release update for Revit 2022 updating it to 2022.1. This update also updated the Dynamo for Revit add-in to version 2.12. Dynamo for Revit 2.12 has many new features and improvements including many bug fixes and an API update.

Key highlights include:

  • Updated Dynamo NodeAutocomplete
  • Reorganised Menus
  • Improved Graph annotation tools
  • New Improved more flexible Excel Import Export node
  • Resizable Watch Nodes!
  • New IF node with True/False value based upon test condition

There are also several new nodes for Revit. These are:

  • Select Reference on Element
  • Ceiling Types
  • Viewport.LabelOffset
  • Viewport.SetLabelOffset
  • Viewport.LabelLineLength
  • Viewport.SetLabelLineLength
  • Ceiling.ByOutlineTypeAndLevel
  • Ceiling.ByOutlineTypeAndLevel(polycurve)
  • CeilingType.ByName
  • CeilingType.Name
  • CeilingType.GetThermalProperties
  • FamilyInstance.ByHostAndPoint

Having these as out of the box nodes may save users having to install extra packages or wrestle with some Python coding. The Dynamo 2.12 update gets installed automatically with the Revit update enabling users to make custom scripts even easier. For me, the highlight of the update is the resizable watch node, being unable to do this for many years I have found rather tiresome. Although having some new nodes to help placing views on sheets and the improved Excel interoperability node are also very welcome.
