A much requested feature in Revit was the ability to be able to snap or draw midway between two reference points. With the recent 2022.1 Revit update this feature is now available.

The new snap is located under the Manage>Snaps menu, I didn’t like the default shortcut, so I changed it to suit my personal preferences.

When drawing any element key in the shortcut, Revit will now be able to draw centrelines midway between 2 references, which makes a good alternative to the dimension equality constraint tool. This works in many ways like the same snap that has been in AutoCAD for many years.

To define a centreline for a corridor, draw a reference plane or similar and invoke the mid between 2 points snap. Revit will then draw a temporary construction guideline showing its mid-point (Fig 1). Clicking the 2nd point the reference plane will then be drawn midway and the temporary guideline will disappear. (Fig 2.)
