A much-requested feature to Revit was to improve the way the Align command would lock elements to its target element. For example, when creating an extrusion object in a family and sketching its initial footprint shape. On previous versions of Revit, you had to click the lock toggle after aligning it, which is somewhat tedious for the user.

However, in the 2022.1 release the lock function has moved from the options bar to the context sensitive ribbon panel and a default lock behaviour can be set for all alignment tasks. This saves many unnecessary mouse clicks when creating content or when working in the main project.
