Revit 2022 - Cannot Load Family Files

When loading families in Revit, you may encounter the message Cannot Load Family Files, and this may stop you from loading the family you require.

In the newer versions of Revit, the message is a little clearer and helps understand the issue.

In this example above, while working with Windows and using “Load Family”, a Door Family has been selected, when only a Windows Family can be loaded. While you are working in a certain tool, Revit will lock “Load Family” to that category.

The best way to get around this, and a quicker way of working, is to go to the Insert Tab>Load Family. Here you can load any family without any restrictions:
