View Template Control

We use View Templates to control the graphic display of plan views, elevation views, section views and 3D views. Once a view is dependent on a View Template, you cannot change the scale, detail level, visual style or Visibility Graphics. If you try to access any of these functions, they are all greyed out. The View Template is in total control of all the view settings so a user cannot just go in and change the settings of one of these views.

The only way you can do it is to change the View Template. In Properties under Identity Data, click the View Template that is in charge. This will give you access to all the editable graphic overrides. Any change made in this dialogue box will update in all views under the control of the same View Template.

You could also set the View Template to None and edit in the normal way. This is not best practice as you would lose your View Template graphic controls.
