With Revit 2023 there is a new subcategory for floors, Floor fold lines. Fold lines behave in the same way as split lines in that they represent where the planes of the shape-edited floor intersect and change floor slopes. Since fold and split lines are different subcategories, they can be set to be displayed differently in either a Project’s object styles or the visibility graphics override interface. Apart from the display difference there is no obvious difference between the line designations. The different line appearances can be useful when modelling certain site related features like slabs or ramps when the native objects do not provide the required functionality.

Fold lines are created automatically when a new vertex is added and altered to a modified floor slab. In either shape-editing mode or by using the Tab key to highlight and select a folding line, folding lines can be converted into split lines.

Limitation

Note: Only folding lines can be converted to split lines. You cannot convert split lines to folding lines. Folding lines that have been converted to split lines have to be recreated by deleting the split line. This limitation will hopefully be resolved in a future version or hotfix.
