What new things do we see in Revit 2023? – Ability to Tag Groups and Revit Links

Earlier this year I was asked whether it was possible to Tag Revit Groups or Revit Links. With Revit 2022 this isn’t possible, although I did provide a semi solution using a Dynamo script which pushed the name string to a suitable text-based parameter however, it wasn’t automatic. This limitation has now been addressed with the 2023 release of Revit.

To create a Group or Link tag, create a Generic Tag and then select the desired category option from the Family Category and Parameters menu. Comments, Type Name and other typical parameter references are all available to select.
