Improving presentation quality for 3D models in Navisworks

Navisworks offers two graphics systems, “Basic” using the graphics older "Presenter" system as the default. But the unified graphics system "Autodesk" based on DirectX (similar to other Autodesk products) offers higher display quality for your shaded 3D models.

You can switch graphics mode with the Options Editor dialog. In the option tree Interface, select Display. Ensure Autodesk is selected in System and select the option "Occlusion Culling" for both CPU and GPU.

In the tree Interface expand Display, select Autodesk then tick the checkbox (1) "Screen Space Ambient Occlusion". Then, select the Shader Style drop down (2) change to Phong shader. Confirm the options with OK.
