Creating a Group

Select multiple elements. In the Modify tab, select the Create Group tool. Give the group a name. You can now copy and paste the group.

This is a great function when it comes to modelling repetitive interior layouts as shown in the two offices here.

To modify a group, select it and click the Edit Group icon.

Use the Add/Remove tool once inside a group to add and remove elements to the group.

In this example, the two chairs are added to the left office layout. After clicking the Finish button both office layouts update.

Remember that you can always use the Ungroup tool to make the elements independent again.

Although groups are useful for repetitive layouts, they do have some drawbacks which I will outline in my next blog.
