Revit 2023 – Changing Rail Profile

Introduction

In this blog we will edit the top rail profile. The top rail is the highest element of a railing. It is created by selecting a 2D profile and a height.

Profiles_Handrail_Rectangular: 50x50mm

Use the tab key to select the top rail. Select Edit Type and in the Type Properties dialogue box change the original rectangular profile to a more decorative profile as illustrated.

Profiles_Moulded_Domestic_Handrail : Standard

Note: Top Rails have their own system families and that is why we can edit them independently of the rest of the railing structure.
