A common task for setting up Revit project templates is the creation and configuration of such families as tags, title sheets and labels. These labels include annotations for Levels, Grids, Callouts and sections etc.  To achieve this in Revit versions prior to 2020 it was a bit of challenge to do this but from the 2021 version onwards it is possible to do with the label family within the section marker element.

Either create a new section head family from scratch and then add labels and detail graphics as required. The file can then be saved out as an RFA file and then loaded into a template or project file.

Alternatively, an existing section head family can be edited from an existing template if the visual appearance and behaviour is close to what is required.

Within the family properties tick rotate text with component, this will ensure the reference label will follow the line of the section cutline.

Once saved and loaded into a project/project template and assigned to a section view family, the label will follow the section as per the image above, left. Above right shows the original behaviour. A similar process could be followed for other labels like elevation markers.
