Revit 2024 now includes Dynamo 2.17!

Dynamo for Revit 2.17 is automatically installed with Revit as an internal add-in. Dynamo scripting environment has been available for several years now and the provision of scripts can make many tasks, easier to perform.

Dynamo 2.17 has received some minor visual tweaks since 2.16. The main most noticeable improvements are the improvements to the Node Autocomplete function. This has been improved by utilising machine learning and based off training graphs. When using the Node recommendations methods, each recommended node is shown with a confidence rating which indicates the algorithm’s confidence that the node is a good choice for the port. The existing object type ranking method is still available to use and has been renamed to Node type match. The autocomplete options can be accessed from Dynamo’s preferences.

Users can now import and export Dynamo settings from the Preferences panel, using an XML file to transfer settings.

When importing, incumbent settings are overwritten. To maintain a copy of the current settings, first export your existing settings as a backup.

For other settings that are not available in the Preferences panel, Dynamo will need to be restarted (and the relevant host program) before the new settings take effect.

With Dynamo 2.17 users can now insert graphs into the workspace and browse to the relevant DYN file. If there are existing nodes or a graph in the workspace, the inserted content appears below the existing content. To avoid potential conflicts, Dynamo's execution mode is set to manual.

Improvements have also been made to the Documentation Browser:

Content is reordered and organized into three expandable and collapsible sections:

• Node Information,
• Node Issue Help (when applicable)
• Inputs and Outputs.

Other improvements also include, Watch 3D nodes show geometry even if node preview is turned off. There is a setting for default font sizes for group styles. And a new Find connected node option, which is very useful for busy graphs.
