On a recent training course, a user wasn’t aware that you can add additional materials to a project. If you are relatively new to the application, it may not be obvious that you can access new material content. This is because Autodesk preloads a few of the material, then stores the other materials in an Asset Browser library.

Solution:

  1. Click the Manage tab on the Revit ribbon.
  2. From Settings pallet, click Materials.

  3. Click on the ball with a plus sign and select Create New Material.

  6. Click on a material (example-Ceramic).

  7. The material will appear to the right.

  8. Double click on the material that you would like. It will appear in the new material that you made.
