Sub element split lines have been available for some time within Revit and have proved invaluable in modelling awkward roofs and sloping slabs. Producing distorted slab objects to form such elements as bespoke ramps also proves helpful to users working with Revit in the infrastructure sphere.

With previous versions of Revit, lines could be added to slab elements to perform as ‘fold lines’ and thereby users could create more complex forms. With Revit 2024.1 additional options are available to allow users to place the line in terms of offset from the existing surface or in absolute terms . If multiple split lines need to be selected use Revit’s Chain Selection function (TAB key) as per other Revit line-based elements.

Modifying and adding split lines are available for Roof, Floor and the Toposolid object introduced with the 2024 release.
